Update, June 2026: Windsurf is now Devin Desktop, sold by Cognition. Existing installs updated in place; plan names and prices on this page follow the Devin lineup (Devin Pro at $20/month, Devin Max at $200/month, Devin Teams from $80/month plus $40 per full seat). The Cascade agent was replaced by Devin Local.
Quick Verdict
Cursor and Devin Pro are two leading AI-first coding subscriptions for individual developers. Cursor Pro is a legacy plan. New customers can no longer buy it, existing subscribers keep it at $20/month, and the comparable plan today is Premium at $30/month. Devin Pro costs $20/month and bills usage against a daily and weekly agent quota. Cursor Premium costs more than Devin Pro and adds Cloud Agents, Automations, Origin, and Bugbot, with third-party models billed at API price from prepaid credit. Cursor Plus at $8/month is cheaper but has no third-party models. If you want Cursor’s agent features, Cursor Premium fits. If you want a purpose-built coding agent with frontier model access bundled in, Devin Pro fits.
Pricing
- Cursor Premium: $30/month, the plan a new buyer compares. Cursor Plus is $8/month. Prices exclude tax.
- Cursor Pro (legacy): $20/month for existing subscribers only.
- Devin Pro: $20/month. Annual billing is not publicly listed, monthly-only pricing applies. Developers who subscribed to Windsurf Pro before the Devin Desktop rebrand keep a grandfathered $15/month rate.
Devin Pro is cheaper than Cursor Premium. Legacy Cursor Pro matched Devin Pro on price, but only existing subscribers can have it now.
Model Access
- Cursor includes its own models (Grok 4.7, Grok 4.6, Grok 4.5, Composer 2.5) in a usage pool. Third-party models (Claude, GPT, Gemini) are not included and are billed at API list price, from prepaid credit on Premium and above. Plus has no third-party models.
- Devin Pro offers access to Devin’s own SWE-2 model alongside premium frontier models from Claude, GPT, Gemini, and SpaceXAI, plus open-source models such as Kimi K2.5, which makes the quota last longer.
Cursor lets you mix third-party frontier models per task at API price, while Devin Pro bundles premium frontier models in its quota. Devin Pro’s SWE-2 model is purpose-built for software engineering workflows.
Usage Limits
- Cursor Premium has one weekly pool for Cursor models, shared with Grok, at 4x Plus usage. Third-party models draw on prepaid credit at API price. Legacy Cursor Pro has two monthly pools instead, Cursor Models and Other Models.
- Devin Pro includes a daily and weekly agent quota shared across Devin Desktop, Devin Cloud, and Devin CLI, plus unlimited Tab completions and inline edits. Usage beyond the included quota draws on-demand credits billed at API pricing.
Cursor’s third-party usage is pay-as-you-go at API price, which suits developers who track API spend. Devin’s quota system gives a fixed daily and weekly allowance before falling back to on-demand credits.
Who Should Choose Each
Choose Cursor Premium if you:
- Want Cloud Agents, Automations, Origin, and Bugbot with your editor
- Want to pick Claude, GPT, or Gemini per task and pay API price for them
- Accept a higher monthly price than Devin Pro for that
If you already have Cursor Pro, you keep it. It includes Bugbot and both usage pools.
Choose Devin Pro if you:
- Want purpose-built software engineering models (SWE-2) alongside premium frontier access
- Like a quota-based usage model with daily and weekly resets, backed by on-demand credits at API pricing
- Are an existing Windsurf Pro subscriber grandfathered at the $15/month rate
- Want to try Devin Desktop free first, Devin Free includes unlimited Tab completions before you commit to Pro
